I'm out on travel right now or else I would look it up in the shop manual... . just out of curiousity, what was your girl friend's heel doing up there?
I assume you are referring to one of the reading lights vs. the dome light.
From David's model year 2001 Factory Service Manual:
REMOVAL (1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. (2) Open the garage door opener storage bin door and locate the two overhead console latch tabs near the front of the bin (Fig. 4). (3) While pulling gently downward on the front of the overhead console, push the latch tabs forward until each latch is disengaged from its receptacle in the inner roof panel. (4) Slide the overhead console rearward far enough to disengage the two mounting hooks on the rear of the housing from the mounting holes in the inner roof panel. (5) Lower the overhead console from the headliner far enough to access the wire harness connector. (6) Disconnect the roof wire harness connector from the overhead console wire harness connector. (7) Remove the overhead console from the vehicle.
PS it is easier to remove footprints from the windshield than scratchs from the heels from the windshield, although often u can get more "gription" with ur boots on!
Pulled the console apart, and the switch was broken... I have to go to the Dodge dealer anyway for a throttle cable (mine started fraying on the way to Moab last week), so I'll get the new switch then... thanks again...
That little switch broke on mine a couple months ago, I just super glued the two halfs back together and it has been fine. There isn't much holding that little POS together. I would be surprised if that harness is available with out having to buy the whole module, let us know what you find out.
I've never purchased from them but they seem to have the greatest percent discount - on most items - of any Mopar seller I've seen. What kind of shipping charges do they want?
