Yes. Apparently his use of the words "overpriced junk" was enough to count as his third strike you're out. I have to wonder if Don was an advertiser here and Amsoil wasn't if the same thing would happen. In my opinion it sucks. I seem to remember sled puller (Gene) coining the phase overpriced junk sometime back, Don was just repeating it. Rather than misquote here's a copy of his walking papers he sent to me:

The TDR seems to look the other way when the Amsoil Salesmen are pushing their products! When I first joined the site I was hounded by emails by the salesmen trying to convince me that I could double the longevity of my engine by using their overpriced products. Don, merely was pointing out the other side of the story. Don's eviction is a loss to the TDR information pool. Free speech at http://www.dieselram.com/.



P. S. I have personally seen Gene use the words "overpriced junk" on several occassions. If it is no longer in the archives, I would imagine that it was contained in some of the threads that were removed.

First of all as you read above (thanks for posting a private email that was sent to someone else illflem) Don M has had his access to the site removed. His removal had nothing at all to do with Amsoil being an advertiser. As has been pointed out in the past vendors that are advertisers in the TDR are regularly bashed on the site and people are not removed because of it. Many of those advertisers represent FAR greater advertising revenue than Amsoil dealers (Banks is a great example). Don had been repeatedly warned not to start oil wars. The last time this came up he received (as did Gene) a strike two and a 10 day suspension of posting privileges. Both of them were warned to not repeat it in the future and exactly what would happen if they did so - the guidelines and our communications are and were very clear on that. Here is a direct quote from one of Don's posts in that thread:

He was the one who was saying the Castrol was overpriced junk because it was hydrocracked. Gene, could we fairly apply the term of endearment you gave Castrol to an Amsoil product now?

If that isn't attempting to start an oil war I don't know what is. On top of that I did a search through all of the forums and the ONLY person who has used the term "overpriced junk" on here is Don as I said in my email to him. He could have stated much of what he said and there would have been no problem with it, but he chose to take the path he did. I will not discuss this here in the forums further. I also ask that noone attack or defame Don here since he is unable to defend himself (which we always request any time this is the case).

You guys seem a little biased IMHO. Not a flame, Just an observation...

I think admin should not be the ones making the decision to pull someone from the site.

I like the 3 strikes and you are out deal , so if 3 people e-mail admin about someones behavior than admin will contact them and say thats 1 and here is your warning , and so on and so on, after the 3rd warning than they could go on double secret probation and have admin do a sicoligical study on the victom to define there volitale and radical behavior! maybe they are a undercover PSD owner or possibly they have some kind of extreme bombing diesese and insuficient funding and admin could set up a support group and collect monies for support and therapy. In other words inappropiate behavior is a sign of a person crying out for help and we the TDR buddies need to be there for that person before they do something dumb like buy a Duramax or PSD . I think kicking someone off the TDR is going to reuin there self assteam and lessen there chances for survival in this dog eat dog world. Please admin do not do a labotimy on Don M as he is still our friend and fellow TDR buddie:{ :{ :{

Hmmm... as I recall this was also sparked up at May Madness. Was it that Robert was afraid that Bill knew what he was talking about?? Or was it that he doesn't like Bill? I dunno and it's really none of my business, but it's kinda funny that after that happened Bill got his $35 back.



After seeing what the TDR has turned into I will also be letting my subscription run out without renewal. The TDR used to be a very informative friendly place to visit. Now it's just turned into a political pi$$ing match.

For the record, Robert wasn't even at Thunder in Muncie nor did he have anything to do with the event other than publishing the info about the event and the sign up sheet in the mag and geno's garage paying for a bunch of trophies for the show and shine. Other than him getting a lot of great publicity (and well deserved I might add) for helping BigKavr with his transmission problem at the dragstrip. As far as I know nothing happened at TIM regarding Bill. I think Greg meant May Madness. Also, Bill was the one who sent a letter stating that he wanted nothing more to do with the TDR. His access had been turned back on after his 30 day suspension when the letter was received.

Nobodys perfect(wife would agree with that). Everbody has there on opinion. This is still the USA isn't it?Some of his remarks I did not agree with,like but I still read them. Look at what some of the members on here come up with. Doc is one that comes to mind for some reason Sure its a touchy subject. You ought to see them over on Freds TDI. It comes and goes. We are suppose to be mature beings. Maybe they could put some kind of sensor(don't know it thats the word for it) or edit,etc. on his posts. If he puts in certain words it don't go through. Some people just like to stir them fire ant mounds up. I guess I should not have started this one. Is that another strike against me?
