IS this the filter everyone is using? I had been running Fleetguard LF16035 since the truck was new... . but I am considering other options. I have tried without success, to cross the filter to a Caterpillar filter.

About the best I have found is this Donaldson ELF7349. I can buy it for $9. 00..... The specs on the filter look very good at first glance...

It's what I use, and I have yet to find a full flow filter with better specs.

I believe ya... Have been spending a bunch of time researching and trying to get a cross to a Cat. . but was never successful. Is that a decent price for this filter? THis is local without having to drive anywhere. I can actually order it thru our parts department.

The ELF7349 was sold by Amsoil until they got their own filter into production. It's a very good filter and will compete with anyone's product. I have used it in the past, but not currently. My availability is not good anymore and now I'm using Hastings filters.

seems hard to find... dont know if any of the local truck ( semi ) shops will have it... is it a specialty filter, or a standard oil filter??? the donaldson i used before was white with blue lettering...

The standard Donaldson filter is P558615/40 micron, next up is P551018/15 micron (mid range) top of the line is ELF7349/15 micron (Endurance grade).

You might check with ASH (Auto Safety House) they have a branch in Las Vegas. In AZ they handle Donaldson filters.

For comparison, the ELF7349 crosses over to a Napa 7620XE but its $24:eek:

The 7620XE is also not nearly as efficient, the Wix is only 25um @ 95%.

Amsoil still sells the ELF7349, they also sell it with Amsoil paint as the EaO80.

Hastings and Baldwin are the same, the LF608 and BT7349 are the same filter, 30um absolute.

Wow... maybe I should stock up on them at $9. 00 each!!!. . We actually stock them just to help out the EPG guys that service all brands of standby power...
