Well men my 99 2500 4x4 is gone after only 22k. I'm sick of the front end troubles so I turned her loose... I'm not happy about it but after $1800 bucks and just not happy with the truck I'll be moving on. Good luck to everyone with the "clunk" problem out there. The Cummins powerplants are the best. It's a shame Dodge puts those inferior parts on there stuff.

Thanks to all

Keith

Sorry about the problems with your dodge. The truth is that all major vehicle manufacturers have their issues, just depends on which ones you can live with. For my money the engine and drivetrain are number one priorities, everything else is second.

All major manufacturers also turn out lemons that give their owners no end of problems. Most of them tend to shy away from admitting the issues and fixing them. It is rare to find a dealer / manufacturer that will go the extra mile for anyone.

Good luck with whatever direction you choose.

Most likely had a 53 block anyway. Get a new Ford and check back with us, and let us know how it is doing. They should have the bugs out of the 6. 0 by now, and the GVWR, GCWR and such are top shelf, best of class. Report back. SNOKING

Sorry for your troubles! I don't have any clunks in my front end. Old boss did in his 94. Now, if yours clunked anywhere as bad as his, I would understand your distrust!

O man "I FEEL YOUR PAIN" with dodge. I do love this truck and the engine but it is hard to justify keeping it when I have to repair so many goffy little problems over and over as we all seem to have the same list of troubles. I have owned 4 new fords in the 80s and 90s and all were free of Wiring problems, death wobble, cab leaks, transmission lines falling off, headlite switch burning, steering box failure,etc... .

Not saying ford is trouble free but the ones I had seem to be a little better thought out before they send them out the door.

But my worn out 96 sure is a sweet truck to drive out on the highway and the fuel milage is nice at 16 around town and 19+ on the highway double my old ford under powered v8s.

Have you dumped it already?

In your previous post there was a possible fix. At 22k that would make a good pulling project vehicle. Good luck with your next truck. Mike

Yea... I had a man that has been wanting the truck ever since I got it in 99... I named my price and he took it... still not happy I let it go but enough is enough.

You know I forgot to mention both me and my father bought 2 of the same trucks in 99. His front end is wonderful at 50k all my troubles started at 14k. His slave cylinder went out 1 month out of warranty and Dodge would do nothing... boys we wrote letters to the top brass and it did no good.

Yea! no doubt maybe German would have helped... pops truck still has the original Mopar stuff under the front.

Maybe us old farts are easier on "stuff"! I replaced the track bar just because at 32K and have had the DSS for serveral years. Other than that my front end seems to be fine. SNOKING
