Americas Doomsday Show

Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Thought I'd share this:

:-{}i dont care what most people say or their opinion of me so i am going to say what i think of this deal... Anybody who thinks the government (obama) is not behind these shootings needs to pull their head out and see who our real enemy is... , it has been part of his/their plan since his first election to take our guns and this is the exact reacction they are wanting the american people to have! Give up our guns! So we cant protect ourselves and provide for our family and soley rely on them? NOT! This is a terrible thing that happened but most effective for them to get the job done in the next 4 years... . #@$%!

I dont see what prohibiting a loaded weapon in the presence of a child is going to do other than get more of them killed. How about promoting gun safety rather than outlawing it. For ***** sake, the govt hands out birth control, why not offer hunter safety programs? If everybody was more involved from childhood (like myself and my children) the streets could only be safer. We keep treating guns like the plague, its going to be a long ride. They really dont get it do they

Fortune magazine investigative report on Fast and Furious:

"Indeed, a six-month Fortune investigation reveals that the public case alleging that Voth and his colleagues walked guns is replete with distortions, errors, partial truths, and even some outright lies. Fortune reviewed more than 2,000 pages of confidential ATF documents and interviewed 39 people, including seven law-enforcement agents with direct knowledge of the case. Several, including Voth, are speaking out for the first time...

... Irony abounds when it comes to the Fast and Furious scandal. But the ultimate irony is this: Republicans who support the National Rifle Association and its attempts to weaken gun laws are lambasting ATF agents for not seizing enough weapons—ones that, in this case, prosecutors deemed to be legal. "

There are distortions on both sides of the aisle. After Sandy Hook "just the facts, ma'am" (thx Joe Friday) will win the day. Wishing something is true will not cut it. This time is different. NRA public address is Friday.

The author makes some good points but context and bias is important. Market ticker is a Libertarian blog. Mr Henninger is one of the founders. People should be careful about buying into the Libertarian absolutionist mantra that all government is bad. There is more than a bit of hyprocrisy in many of the loudest voices in that they have financially benefitted, either directly or indirectly, from government programs/contracts but now tour the airwaves shouting about the evils of government. ATF was apparently very careful in who they chose to talk to about an investigation into Fast and Furious. "Fortune" magazine contributors and subscribers include a "who's who" list of conservative American political and financial big shots. Such a study would be thorough and unbiased and its findings should carry some weight. Mistakes were made by ATF and FBI, but there was no government program or policy to supply guns to the cartels. That is a myth. What should not be lost in this is that Arizona has become a prime example of the law of unintended consequences. Laws meant to promote and maximize freedom of gun ownership have turned the state into a gigantic weapons flea market for criminals of all persuasion. That is why the ATF program was initiated to begin with.

Take a look at the site http://www.chaostan.com -see what Richard Maybury has to say. I don't know where conspiracy comes into play, but I've been around long enough to know that there is a lot of crap happening behind the scenes that the government certainly does not want us to know about. How about Kissinger and Cambodia, or East Timor? Anymore I just ask who the puppet masters are as it starts to make a lot more sense when viewing what is happening - doesn't seem like it matters which party is in place, a certain group gets their mind made up they need something to happen so they create circumstances to make it happen. You name it, a war needed here, a shooting needed there, fuel prices need to be increased, just follow the money and watch out for who wants to be in power.
