Well I had my C&C serviced the other day and asked about any TSB's for my truck and if any flash's were available for my C&C 6. 7. After they hooked it up to the computer, it did note that there was an AV flash for it. After consulting with my tech over whether to do this or not he convinced me it is better to update it, than leave it alone. I thought it would help in MPG and not even notice the difference.

Well I only have a few miles on it so far but there is a definite loss of power in the lower RPM range and I didn't notice any change in MPG. Time will tell if it gets better in MPG but I hate the power loss. When I step on the throttle now it reminds me of a POS DMAX I had to drive for awhile. I think the AV flash leans the fueling in the lower RPM range until the RPM's increase so it will produce less soot.

There were no problems when I did this, and now I regret it. My tech did warn me there is no return to the old program and did it at my request. If I had to put blame on someone, it is me. So if your not having problems with your C&C 6. 7, don't do it!

Here are the TSB's

1) Flash engine controller per TSB 18-009-07

2) Flash cabin control node per TSB 18-013-08

My tech told me there could be changes I won't like, but the overall picture of it should be better for the engine. He is the #1 Diesel tech for Frahm Dodge, and works on them all day every day. He gave me his opinion and I made the decision.

I sure hope the MPG improves.

dont get too worried just yet, remember that a flash usually is a reset of the PCM/ECM system and it will have to "relearn" a few things. I know when I have reset the PCM on a few of my chrysler vehicles they have been dogs for the first few hundred miles, and then seem to wake up.

To update on the MPG, it has slightly increased by about 1 to 2 MPG, but by the overhead only. It still seems to have lost some power in the lower RPM range although not as bad.
