I had a tire blowout on the trailer I was towing so I used the Ram factory bottle jack to jack up the trailer. As I was trying to turn the knob to raise the jack the thing cracked #@$%!. Whatever gears was inside the jack kept slipping I was so #@$%! fustrated I finally jacked enough to slide the spare tire in place so I can get back on the road again.

I am going to buy an aftermarket jack but don't know what I should get. Been think of a hydralic bottle jack but it might have reach problem. Are there any heavy duty sissor jacks that anyone know of?

Thats why I always have a 20 ton bottle jack on the truck with me. the only thing I use the factory jack for is pretty much and adjustable support for transmissions and such.

i really should snap some pictures of my 12t bottle jack and axle cradle i made for it. . the jack doesn't have much travel, but the acme screw in the ram lets it extend up quite a bit lifts the corner to do a tire change effortlessly. .

pic of my 12t enerpac with homebrew axle cradle
