plan for my '69 Coronet

Don't ya all worry, I lived through the big earth quake in Alaska today... . as a matter of fact I did not even feel it. My family and girlfriend did feel it and I guess it was quite impressive. Shook Dad's house for about 4 minutes. Mom and Dad both went through the 64 quake up here and quite frankly mom freaks out during the quakes. Any way... read about it here and here.

Man JR2 I can't believe you didn't feel that one. I was actually on TDR, cruising the post when it started. I called out at my wife and kids. asking if they were feeling it, (they were in other rooms of the house) we all got together and enjoyed the ride. What else ya gonna do? It lasted quite some time, then there seemed to be some after shocks that made it seem longer.

JR2, I'm heading up to Milne Tuesday, you ever get up there, I thought you use too, or am I mistaken?

Don't get out to Milne much any more... once they stopped drilling I was done out there. I am sitting on Northstar Island righ now... did not feel the quake here... I guess since you are coming up North on Tues that you will not make our meeting on Sat??

JR2,

Your having a meeting this week? Do you have any during the weekends. If so, and you let me know well in advance, I'll try to make it down for one.

Great to hear you're all okay, when things like that happen up there we worry down here, cuz sometimes we get the ripple (tsunami). But like you we're all still here:) .

Ditto- Glad to hear your OK :)

I was living a mile and a half from the center of the 1989 quake in California. I used to laugh when everyone else got nervous during a small quake. Now even the little ones get my heart pumping

Yea Dane, everyone who has not lived through a big one tends to think that they are just a little jiggling and it's done. I went through the one in 64 and you couldn't stand up. I was thrown down over and over trying to get to a door way. The ground outside looked like the ocean waves that were 4 or 5 feet tall.

The heart definitely does a pitter patter when the ground shakes.
