I'm wanted share my fix to a problem we've all had and some that you might not of had. Starting with my door hinges, which were worn so badly that the parts store repair kits wouldn't fix them

I started by disassembling the hinge then i drilled it out to accept the steel sleeve from a spring bushing and welded it solid

I then drilled out the center of a 1/2" bolt and crossed drilled the bolt so it could be used grease the pin and sleeve, once the hinge was put back together i welded the pin solid to upper and lower hinge arm so the pin could only rotate in the sleeve, i did the same thing for the top hinge as well.

I started by drilling multiple holes into the door skin then making a steel reinforcement plate to go on the inside of the door.

Next i welded the plate to the inside of the door though the holes i drilled in skin as well as welding solid the crack in the door skin and grinding all the welds smooth and repainting the whole door

peeling back the outer layer of door skin reviled the extent of the damage to the inner support, each blue line is a crack in the door support

I cut out the damaged part of the door and traced the shape and holes onto a peace of 1/4" plate steel then cut it out with a plasma cutter and welded the new part in to the door and ground every thing flush for a finished look

Doing well. Nice to see you keeping your truck going. How is your father doing? Still have the 91 I drove to the Cummins plant. Had to replace the cab and bed after the trip home. I 70 was a killer. Anyway, it still is running well.

Mikey, thanks for the heads up on that. Yeah 70 was real bad, i blame it for my ball joint failure not long after that, dad is still the same as ever which i guess is a good thing
