anyone know how to get my door line to match up to the body, the gaps actually fine but its the bottom of the door that sticks out past the cab if your looking down the side of the body ??,... hmmm shims? its the stock door i dunno what to do or look for

The gap is adjusted with shims. In/out is adjusted by loosening nuts on door side of hinge and sliding the hinge on the door. Remember moving the lower hinge so the door moves in, and the upper part of the back of the door moves out. What you do to one corner, the opposite happens to the "kitty-corner".

Door Hinge R&r

You probably need new hinge pins.

Dode dosent sell these only the hinge complete at around 60 to 70 smakers each.

search for auveco.com you can by just a bolt and bushing kit for about 12 to 15, just have to remove the hinges one at a time worked a treat on my drives door, shuts like brand new now, passenger door is good for now.

Also ardeldistributors.com has the kits

RockAuto.com has the kit. Part #38423 and use 'turbodiesel' in the 'how did you hear about us' box to get discount.

haha thanks for the fast reply fellas. . thats y i pay the money, cause of help like that. ill look into adj. pins and bolts and if i have no luck then ill resort to parts. Great, thanks

I bought the Auveco kit and was not exactly happy. The hole for the bushings had to be drilled out to 1/2" and the holes on the body side of the hinge (where the pins go thru without bushings) have to be drilled out to 3/8".

Add a couple of fresh $15 drill bits to the price of the job. If you have the "pilot point" type of bits, you won't be able to center them properly.

It's not really Auveco's fault - I think drilling is required no matter whose kit you get. Though maybe some others only need new holes for the bushings - I dunno.

Drilling the holes is an opportunity to get something out of round, out of line or wrong-sized. It would have been much faster to buy new hinges, and easier too. New hinges are not cheaper, but sometimes time is money. Like when you put off the PITA of rebuilding your hinges so long that you tear the latch out of the door. #@$%!

HTH a little
