My sons 92 CC(my old truck) has the lower hinge attachment point on the door broke loose. It is the drivers door.
It looks like the metal around the hinge attachment fatigued and broke.
Anyone have that problem and found a repair procedure? Welding that thin metal of the door would be a difficult process.
Wish I would not have sold it to him. Always something wrong and I feel obligated to help him fix it. Oh well..... next time.

Jack , my '93 has the same trble, has broken loose on all 4 sides yet but it is just a matter of time, called a body shop, but they were talking about disassembling door and trying to put more metal support around it, going to run between $2-300, hope someone has an easy, cheap fix.

Jack, I have several first generation Dodges in the fleet that I maintain. The only cheap or easy repair is to remove the door, get out the MIG or TIG welder, add metal to the lower hinge area in place of the original,I usually use 10 gauge steel. then redrill the holes for the hinge bolts. The metal used from the factory is a double layer 14 type gauge steel. This metal is flexing every time the door is opened, and if the lower hinge is a little stiff or dry the cracks start and eventually the metal breaks. Hope this helps. Saw an old bodyman friend today. He agrees that removing the door and building up the metal is the only fix. He said that is a real common problem with these models.
$200-$300 is not an unreasonable price to do that.
