My door jamb sticker lists:

8800 GVWR

5200 GAWR Front

6084 GAWR Rear

It also has the axle ratings qualified with LT245/75R-16-E tires and 7. 5" rims, yet my truck came with 265s and 8" rims.

Does anyone have a sticker that lists 265 tires and/or 8" rims?

TIA

I don't know why,but for some reason all the 2000-newer 2500's all say 245 tires on the sticker. Someone at the factory sure is bright.

What changed on the newer 4x4's to change the front axle rating to 5200#? Do they still have a Dana 60? My 4x4 front is rated at 4850#. Can't be tires or wheels so what is different?

sticker question

Well, I had not noticed that, but my new truck is the same. The only explanation I can think of is that the 265's are part of an option package. None the less, I too would have expected the as-built info to be on the sticker.

On another thread, KCJackson posted that the load ratings for the 245 tires are 3042 pounds, which explains my rear axle rating of 6082.

I suppose it really doesn't matter (except to me) if it's wrong. I'd exceed the GVWR by a phenomenal amount to come even close to the 6082 rating.

It still begs the question: If they couldn't get the door jamb sticker right, what other mistakes did they make? Guess I'll find out eventually.

Dieselnerd: It looks like a 60, but I haven't looked for any numbers on it. A 4850-pound rating would be pretty close for me, as I've got 4560 on my front axle with only a 1/4-tank of fuel. Must be the springs.

I think the 24v weighs 100-150 pounds more than the 12v and they had to increase the rating?

[edit] I decided to send a note off to DC regarding the sticker. We'll see what happens.

You *assume* it's my tach. I have not and never will exceed design parameters.

Hmm. Maybe I'd better change that lest the warranty police make the same assumption. I've got to go in for some warranty work Thursday.

Mundgyver:

A Dana 70 on the front? Are you sure? That's the normal rear axle with an automatic transmission. The Dana 70 axle itself is rated at 7500# but is normally rated on the door sticker at whatever your tires will carry. Does your underhood sticker say Dana (or Spicer) 70 for the front? Thanks... .

Yum, Yum, You just have to love the taste of a well done Crow!! I was told by a mechanic at the dealer one day during a discussion that the truck had a 70 in the front. I've never really paid attention to the axles other than they are the largest axles I have ever had. Since I have not done any mods to them yet i. e. ARB's or such, I have had no reason to study them. After your message I went out and took a look under the hood. Not sticker. Went to the door and it gives a weight but not a model. Started going for the owners manual and discovered pasted in the bottom of the glove box a sticker with more info on it. It has a M60F Dana. Can I have some more Crow please? Thanks for making me study. :D I do like this club. -Wally-
