Has anyone noticed their door moldings are hitting the door when its closed or opened. Drivers side has a hole in molding. Passenger side is almost as bad. Hopefully the TST is twisting the frame like the big guys.
I believe the TSB is already issued - I have parts on order through my dealer. I can't find the number but if you do a search on this forum, you'll find it.
I think I found it: try this one on your dealer: TSB 23-008-04
Yup, TSB is out on the door seals. They will only replace the torn side. If the other side is torn as well, they'll do both, but only if it's torn. The new seal is a different part number from the original, they changed the rubber compound to prevent tearing. My driver side was replaced, and no noise.
I just went out with the flashlight. Had you not said anything, I might never noticed it. Maybe that is where all the wind noise was coming from on my 04. Ill have to stop by the dealer and take a look at it. They still have it on their lot for sale. . They are asking $39,999! :--) :--) :--) Thats more than I paid for it new!
Could be, but my drivers side had about a two inch tear and no noise. I guess it depends on where the tear is and where it goes, mine was just inline, not to the sides, so that might have sealed when the door was pressing on it. If it tore to the side, it would open up and might catch more air.
Thanks for the TSB guys. New question? Anyone have doors that leak when you spray them @ The car wash. My passenger side leaks. Molding on this side is starting to split not not as bad as drivers side.
The TSB is going to be revised, so unless you like to make two trips, and risk the dealer working on the truck twice, wait a couple months and get it done one time instead of two. Only exception is if you are going out of warranty soon.
The dealer called me today and said the left and right door rubbers are in. Dodge pays . 2 to install them so I am going to wait for the truck. It will be done on Tuesday. I will let you know if they look any different.
Dealer just replaced my driver side door seal that was tearing. The new seal looks just like the old one ,so I suspect I'll be replacing it again. You migh wait like SAG2 said if they are redesigning the door seals.
Got mine both replaced yesterday. It is supposedly made from a different compound and the shape is slightly different. About the leaking at the carwash -- my driver side door had a problem leaking wind and rain on the driver side at around 85 - 100mph when there was a slight cross wind. Hopefully the new seals will also remedy it raining in the truck as well.
Anyone know if there really is a TSB that covers the passenger side seal, or are dealers just replacing the part with the same? My driver's side has a huge hole torn in it, and is going in on Monday for the TSB update. The passenger side door also contacts the seal pretty hard. I'm thinking it is only a matter of time before that side tears too.
Just had the TSB done on the drivers side today by Lithia- they wouldn't do the passenger side since it wasn't torn yet. It looks like the same molding. The TSB calls for P/N 55275616AC. Lithia installed 55276941AA. It seems to rub as bad as the original. Does anybody know if 55276941AA is the correct/new number?
