Just the other day both of my truck's door panels started creeking at the rear of the door panel at armrest level. Both of the panels started making the noise at the same time. Any pressure on the door panel makes the same noise. It is so irritating. Is anyone else having this problem? One thing I have noticed is that the noise is worse at cooler temps. I thought by buying a new truck I wouldn't have to put up with any squeaks and rattles for quite some time. My 97 had no squeaks and the only thing that rattled was the engine. It also had alot more power. :( Don't get me wrong, its still a great truck.

i have the same rattles as you describe been to the dealer twice and i still have them. just as you say. when i rest my arm on the arm rest it gets worse i called my dealer and told him to order a new panel.

Mine started doing it too. The good news is, it's a piece of cake to remove the door panel to investigate. Just removed the visible screws, and lift vertically on the panel, and disconnect the wiring. It is a slidein tab design now instead of the crummy plastic christmas tree posts they used to use, so it's easy to remove and reinstall the panel without runing anything.

I think a little silicone or dry lube like graphite should do the trick. I plan to do this as soon as I have a few minutes.

vaughn,

let us know how it goes i think i might just have to fix this one myself. guys who are reading this if you are not mechanically inclined dont buy a dodge. i still love this truck. love can be blind sometimes:D

Not trying to be a smart a** here. But, I found that if you have anything in the storage area of the door panels this can cause a bad speaker vibrating sort of sound!

Been there done that!

Its not from anything in the door panel pockets. Like I said, its more of a creak, not a rattle. You can push on the panel and get it to make the noise. I just haven't had time to investigate whats causing the noise. That sounds pretty bad coming from a person who works at a Dodge dealer as a Mechanic, don't it:rolleyes: .

Not really JTeague,

I've seen it to be mostly true that mechanics have oil leaks and bad mufflers ... ... ... ... plumbers have leaky faucets ... ... ..... carpenters have houses that are far from finished ... ... ... ... you get my drift, lol.

checkout the next page of this forum, look for a thread called "annoying rattle in drivers door" scroll down for my reply. I put in there what I found to possibly be a good fix!

I've had my truck since Oct. 28 (16k miles) of last year and haven't heard anything like you guys describe. I wonder if it's because I packed all my doors with 1" thick insulation. Maybe it's holding things in place and keeping it from rattling?
