I think I'm having a hard finding this, because I don't know the correct name. White connectors appear to be broken at the armrest. I'll take it apart and epoxy, unless there is a replacement readily available. 2016 Ram Outdoorsman.

Will attempt to add pics...

I have a factory 2017 Service Manual and neither does it show the arm rest as a separate component. If you have a 2nd vehicle to use while it's down, I'd take the door panel off and put eyes on the fastener holding the armrest on. Maybe there's a way to improve it so it doesn't happen again after the factory fix.

So, took the door panel off, checked the door card to armrest and looks like the card is welded (plastic) to a monolithic plastic piece that is attached to or part of the armrest. Took before pics, see circled in red the 5 connections to the armrest on the first pic, 2nd pic is zoomed in relative to the first pic.. Put in some #6 screws from the backside to reattach; seems real solid now. If that doesn't hold up will add/inject some epoxy into the holes one by one.

I learned on the 2011 not to use the door to assist in getting in the truck, makes the hinges squeak (especially when warm). I have a habit of getting out of the truck, then pulling the door armrest from the inside to let the doors momentum close; on retrospect that would add a shearing force leading to the breakage.

I'm gimpy, so for me, getting in my 5500 I put a foot on the side step, grab the a pillar handle with my right hand and armrest with my left, and with total coordination launch into the cab of the truck. It's a pulling, pushing, and stepping operation. I weigh a dainty 220 lbs.

Mine did the same two years into ownership on both front doors. Dealer wouldn't repair under warranty, only gave me the runaround and a price for $830/door card for a Laramie. Ended up zip tying them from the inside for now. Not sufficient shear strength in this connection. I notice I push down on the handle when I'm getting in, and so does my wife apparently.

And you accepted that denied warranty for a part that was clearly bad from factory?
I'd would have turned them upside-down for that. Unbelievable.

@ MConyers, not knowing the proper term but looks like a plastic weld (arm rest to door panel). I would pre-drill from back side and either use a sheet metal or decking screw. It's broke so what do you have to loose.
