Hello! I have a 2001 Dodge in the shop doing a full restoration on it. I did a cab swap and installed the doors that were given to me to put on. I do not know what year the cab is. I only know the truck I am working on is a 2001. I know for a fact the power windows worked in the old doors before removing them. Now I have replaced the cab and put rust free doors on. The harness plugs were totally different for the doors that I put and the cab. So I pulled the harnesses from the rusted out doors and found if I go to lower the passenger window it instantly blows the fuse. The drivers side power window does not work nor do the power locks. I bought new switches from ebay for both the drivers side and passenger side doors. I really thought the switches were bad but they have not solved my problem. I have good power supply, good ground, I have power to one side of the drivers side window switch but not the other. So I can make a window motor run one direction but not the other. I have 3 different sets of switches. The new ones, the ones I know worked, and another set I had laying around. They all test the same. I can not get voltage to switch from one side of the switch to the other. I also seem to have low voltage. I do now see any broken wires in the boots and have run jumper grounds and jumper power wires and cant seem to make any combo work. Im starting to wonder if its possible these harnesses are somehow different. I read the difference between the harnesses is that one had the infinity stereo and one did not. The replacement cab did have the infinity stereo. I know nothing about what year of truck the doors came off of. Is it possible my entire issue here is the door harness being different for certain years of these 2nd gen trucks? Im really lost here. I have a lot more hours than I would like to admit into something so simple. I have yet to be able to make a window motor move in 2 directions on this thing! Any pointers would be much appreciated! Thanks for reading!
