I know this was discussed before, but my 2005 has the worn out door seal problem, it is real bad on the drivers side, is there a TSB on this, and I assume it is covered by Dodge, also has the replacement been redesigned, ?, this is the only thing that has gone bad on the 05, now at 18k, a great truck.

I just got a new set and they look great. Where the door swings over the rubber, it has been flattened and it doens't touch the rubber seals. It's great!!

You should take it in for the TSB on the door seals. Had them done at 34,500 miles, about two weeks ago. Now I have 36,500, so it had to be under warranty. Dealership did a great job.

Yes, TSB covers up to 04 model year... might have to fight with DC to get the seals replaced on an 05.

They replaced mine after I pointed the TSB out... they didn't even look at the truck... just ordered the seals.

You're right about the 2005's being omitted from the TSB site. But if it's under warranty, they should be able to repair it for you, with the new door seals, it should work just great.

I find it funny that the 05 door seals were not upgraded at the factory...

Same with my clutch issues that should have been corrected in my 04. 5 that was covered in a TSB for the 03s.

Whats TSB? And my 05 had the worn out seals to and was from the point of the door hitting it. Took it to the dealer and told them about and they just said we will have it done by tonight. I got it back and the part where it was getting torn was flattened so the corner of the door never hit it again. I just have the standard warranty and i got mine replaced at like 12,000 miles.

TSB - Technical Service Bulletin

It's what DC uses to broadcast repairs for common problems basically.

Geno's Garage has them listed.

They should have replaced the "foam" gasket with a rubber/thermoplastic version... it will not look like your old one (at least mine didn't) and I have not had an issue with mine since then.

i don't remember exactly what the original one looked like but where it was getting torn they replaced it with a harder almost plactic i guess piece. I also have had no problems with it since. Now am i hearing that the 05's were having lots of problems and not that great this year or did i misinterpret that comment on the 05's being omitted to the tsb.

Is the correct TSB 23-008-04? Are these door seals the ones with the flattened portion where the A pillar makes contact.

I think my dealer only replace the inner portion of the seal and not the complete seat.

I don't remember the TSB number, but they will replace the upper/outer gasket... it is the one that looks like rain gutter... then the inner one is the bulb gasket that runs the entire edge of the door frame.

They only replace the rain gutter looking one... it is the only one that gets damaged.

They only replaced the inner one on mine. They left the outer one off. Brilliant.

Does the new one have the flattened portion at the A pillar pinch point? That's what they did on the 05 Jeeps and it is perfect.

Mine still rubs, but it hasn't given any problems... maybe I got the "quick fix" and the one you are talking about is the long term solution.

I thought that was a VERY poor design when I first got my truck... and guess what... it was!
