I am getting water in the cab. I fixed the 3rd brake light and the rear window seal and no problems for awhile. Now it appears that water is running in on the floor at the bottom and most front part of the door. Has anyone else had this problem? Please help if you have a slick fix. Thanks! The truck is a '96 2500 ext. cab.

Fish On, I'd be interested in any ideas, too. I get a wet carpet after a lot of heavy wind-driven rain, like we've had here for the last few days. It's only around the door edge of the passenger side, and right now I suspect the door's rubber weather seal. It gets crunched pretty good along the roofline and is showing a little cracking. I think that the water is entering there and following the weather seal down to the bottom joint, where it's open. Then the water has nowhere to go but into the carpet because the step trim keeps it from going over the side. Not a huge problem, but an annoyance when it happens.

fortunate your prob is exactly the same prob I am experiencing. Any suggestions from the experts? Thanks in advance.

just an idea

put your truck in the garage so you have no air movement , leave motor off but freash air on high to pressureize the cab, get a cigerette and run it on the outside of the doors and when the smoke blows you have found your leak, I am guessing then you could adjust the doors :)

Fish on

first find where the leak is comming from then loosen the proper hinge and move the door in closer on that spot to try and put more pressure on the sealing gasket... ... ... . Kevin

This may sound stupid but could you be more specific on how you adjusted the hinges. Thanks!

Like Kevin said you need to determin where the water is coming in, then loosen the hinges and adjust the door so that it still shuts without having to slam it but tight enough to stop the leak... . also try putting some silcone spray on the weatherstrip it will swell the seal a little. I do it regularly to keep the weatherstrip from drying out... . Rick

When installing the lead I found the weather stripping is joined on the bottom ,and the small gap would allow it to seep over into the matting under the sill plate. That needs to be sealed.
