Double Din in 07 Quad

Anyone have luck putting a double din stereo into an 07 quad cab? Buddy gave me one for some work I did for him.



I found the $40 CAN cable (feeds stereo power after key is turned off, until a door opens). (It's $70 @ Crutchfield, just eBay'd the part number. )



I'm told the opening is large enough but requires some custom bracketing (mainly one in the rear. )



I've never pulled the dash, not sure how much of a rat's nest it is back there...

My audio guy says it can be done. I am looking at putting one in my 06 truck. You can get a factory nave plate and an aftermarket dash kit and he says it will work. keep us posted how it works out.

I put a double din in my 06 and it looks pretty sweet! There are a lot of things you need to take in consideration before you attempt this.



1) you will need the proper dash benzel. I went to dodge and got dash benzel for the nav kit they offer. Then the proper aftermarket mounting kit that attaches to the the dodge benzel which will mate with your double din radio.



2) becase dodge matches their stock radios with their speakers, there may be a difference in sound. I changes out my speakers for aftermarket ones before I installed the radio. The stock head unit made the speakers sound weak. If you are keeping the stock speakers and a aftermarket radio, I'm not sure if you will expierence this.



3) my installalation did not require any additional bracketing, and I have a heavy head unit.



4) you will need the instructions before you attempt to remove your dash. there are a few hidden screws that you need to remove, and if you dont know where they are, you will break the dash.

I had a dd put in my 07. 5 mega cab. I just bought the factory nav. bezel from the local dealer and had an audio guy install my kenwood unit.
