I have a 2004 2500 quad cab Laramie, with the Infinity sound system. This has the in dash 6 disc CD. The sound quality is fine and I like the system but I want to add the ability to integrate my IPhone. I was thinking of replacing the double din unit with an aftermarket one. Any thoughts on what works best with this vehicle?

I have the steering wheels controls and want to keep that function. I like being able to adjust the volume from the wheel.

Thanks

Scott

Double dins are tight it really is a 1.5 din. You may have to do some metal work . Pioneer made a din 1.5 . but no bluetooth so pretty much old school.

I have the same sound system in my truck and I recently installed a Pioneer 8100 NEX. It's a pricey unit, but I wanted Navigation and all the bells and whistles like apple car play. I did have to modify the dash to fit this unit which took a little bit of work, but I am very happy with the way it turned out. It looks and works great with the truck!

I replaced mine with a double din pioneer unit and have been pleased. I bought it from crutch field and bought their kit to worked like a champ.

The crutchfield.com website is a GREAT source for info on what fits specifically in your truck ,as well as MANY user reviews on the different items that do fit. While they may be a little more expensive then Amazon or other vendors, you do not have to buy from them to use their site or even their sales staff. That being said, if you do buy from them, know that they have EXCELLENT customer service, lifetime tech support, and and 60 day 100% satisfaction guaranteed that IMHO makes paying the little extra well worth it and I like to support them.
