Tell me this is not bad. :{
On Friday, March 30, I had a freeze plug partally shoot out of my head. It is one of the small freeze plugs on the back of the block, behind #6.
I just have to keep filling up the rad with water. What makes me mad is I just flushed and changed the anti-freeze to Zerex (Yea the expensive stuff!).
Today (4-3-02), I had a Rim split in half. Thankfully this happened when I was driving slow. Yes It split in half. The truck was not loaded at the time. I have never had the truck's single weight over 10,000, and the total AB weight over 23,000. I know this is a lot for a 2500, but many others do this. If any body else has a 2500 2001 with Forged Alum rims, Please check them for fatigue. A split rim is not something you want to have happen when towing 10,000 on the interstate going 70 mph.
The truck has 40,000 miles. The dealer will warranty the head, but I am not sure if they will with the rim.
I am not sure if they can pull the broken freeze plug off with out removing the head. If any body has changed the freeze plug on the back of the head on a 24v. can you get out the old freeze plug with out removing the head
Any help on this would be appreciated. :-{} Thakks.
