Now that we have moved to our new home in Santa Fe NM @7000ft, the truck is way down on power and continually smokes. I want to disconnect the puck and see if it helps. Can I just unplug it without doing anything else? I’m thinking I need to switch to a programmable controller. Before we left LA I got to drive JKidd HO and loved the Edge juice. I’m thinking this is the direction I should go.

What do you guys think

Thanks as always Jim

My old '99 had Mach 1. 6's and an EZ. Intake was BHAF and exhaust was a Jardine 4". transmission was a DTT. It was really hard to smoke that sucker@ sea level. Take it up to 6,000ft and wow did it smoke! I think it's just your altitude. Restoring it to stock will help.

7000 feet makes a big difference. Anything you can do to get more air into the engine will help. Making sure you're getting the coolest and densest air is a step in the right direction. I'm not sure that disconnecting your puck will help with the power, but it should reduce smoke. You could probably keep the puck, but just install a on/off switch so that you can stop the smoke.

Removed the puck

Finally got around to removing the Power Puck, and what do you know, Less smoke and more power:-laf I guess the puck was not adj to the altitude.

I would suggest trying a Smarty. It makes the boost come on unbelievably quick. Driving anywhere from sea level to 11,000 feet while towing campers all the time I run the gamut of conditions. While 7000 feet will produce more smoke than say 500 feet the Smarty produces noticeably less.

Godspeed,
Trent
