I travel a lot (50wks a yr) and would love to have an e-copy of the tdr to help me keep track of them and be able to carry them. There's only so much that fits in a suitcase.

A .pdf or . doc would be great that way I could put it to cd and search it from time to time.

I like to hunt through the few I have quite often but don't have the muscle or desire to lug them across the country.

I'd even take the ecopy in lieu of a hard copy. I wouldn't have to wait on the mail that way. I can always print it if I need to flip pages.

Thanks,

Mark

I agree, Ialos travel a lot for my job (although not as much as above), and I think its a great idea to have an electronic .pdf in lieu of the hard copy,

plus you wouldn't have to manage as much for people buying back issues,

members could go to a web page and order the back copy and if theres a charge, they could use their credit card or paypal to pay right then and download the .pdf

Good Idea

This idea has come up a couple of times, and it is a good one. There may be some possibilities, but due to limited staff, it probably isn't in the immediate future. We realize that the ability to download is important. Just give us a little time.

Thanks for the great idea and the enthusiastic support.

Hi Robin,

Just a suggestion. I know you re busy with the other issues at the moment. I have Adobe Acrobat "Writer" on my PC. It is not expensive. When I generate a document in any windows based software, I just select it instead of the default printer and it makes the PDF. That would probably be a low effort way to do this. It does not resolve the copywright issue though.

Thank you all for a great magazine and website.

Robin,

I assume the TDR is in E format prior to printing. If so what format? I'm sure that a . dco or .pdf could be made by someone. I could do it if need be. Then it could be posted in a memers only section.

I would think that setup and administration would be minimal.

I have enought time to help if its needed.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks!

Thank you for offering to help. I just attended a class on Adobe Acrobat 5. 0 with the intention of being able to convert more and more of the TDR's material to .pdf files for electronic distribution. Looks like it is relatively simple.

At this time, we still do some manual layout of the magazine (I know, old fashioned stuff), so the entire magazine isn't in one file at one time. We send all of the text in electronic format and another individual does the layout to include the advertisements, art and pictures. In each issue, our folks include a little more digitally before going for layout so I can see that we'll get there relatively soon.

Our first step will probably be articles in .pdf format then graduate up.

Be careful, I may take you up on your offer to help.

As soon as I get to a dyno again hope to have one of your articles in E format:rolleyes::) but you never know.

Later,

Mark
