The other day I went to the Uconnect website to see if my 2013 Ram 2500 was due for a software update and it was. So I followed the instructions, downloaded and installed the "Download Manager" software, at which point the software update was to begin downloading but nothing happened. I tried a couple of times and same result. So I called the Uconnect Customer Service number. They told me they were aware of the problem and that I should go to my dealer to get the update until they get the website fixed. As I have two trucks to do (my wife has a new 2013 Ram 2500 also), I called the dealer and asked if they could provide me with a copy of the software update for me to perform myself. They said that they could not do that and that I had to bring the trucks in for them to perform the update and it would take about an hour. Needless to say, I was not a very happy camper at this point. Anyway, I did some more messing around and the the last thing that I tried worked.

The download will not work with Firefox, you must use Internet Explorer. However, if you have Internet Explorer 11, I know that the download will not work unless you perform the following:

1) Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the Uconnect Support page that asks you to enter the last 8 characters of your VIN to see if you qualify for the download.
2) Once there, right click on the Tools icon to open the Tools menu. The Tools Icon is on the upper right corner of the IE window and looks like a gear.
3) Select Compatibility View settings. At this point a pop-up box should appear.
4) The pop-up box should have chrysler.com highlighted in the box below the heading "Add this website:". Click the add button to the right. This should add chrysler.com to the box under the heading "Websites you've added to Compatibility View:".
5) Click the close button at the bottom of the Compatibility View pop-up box. and continue following the instructions for downloading the Uconnect update.

I don't know if Internet Explorer 10 has this same issue or not. All I can say is try it, and if the download doesn't work, then follow the instructions above and try it again.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What's the number for U Connect? I need to find out if I can Update my unit to have NAV. I've gotten very conflicting yes you can / no you can't . I know that I have a Ra2 unit however it has the voice command feature and the input for the GPS antenna.

The RA4 Uconnect 8.4AN AM/FM/BT/Access/NAV is the only upgradeable Radio that I know of and You must have the correct USB RSXP.

If you go to this website, http://www.driveuconnect.com/support/ramtrucks/, then select System Updates, it will ask for the last 8 digits of your VIN. Just enter that in and click submit. That will tell you whether or not you eligible for a software upgrade. Otherwise their Customer Support number is 1-877-844-8400. You can get this info from the same web site as above by selecting the Contact Us menu.

Tim I always go to dealer, they just hand Me the Flash Drive (USB) and I upgrade in the Parking lot. My units have the POP up telling Me to see dealer for Upgrade, Both My 13 Rams do this and the 13 Charger. I do subscribe to Uconnect for WI-FI and remote access.

Todd,

Neither my truck nor my wife's truck gets that message. I have, from time to time, had mine come up and complain about the phone not working, but it always clears itself. I did call and ask about this issue and was told to attempt the upgrade myself and if it didn't work to go to the dealer. I was able to successfully update both my and my wife's Uconnect (8.4AN RA4) yesterday.

Okay, one final technical note that I have for this problem. As I mentioned in my original post concerning this problem, Firefox will not work. I running version 25.0.1. I tried using an Internet Explorer emulator add-on for Firefox, IE Tab 2, and it did not work either. I also tried using Google Chrome and did not have any success with it as well. I did submit an e-mail to Ram/Uconnect Customer Service letting informing them of the workaround that I found until a formal fix can be made. I also urged them have their IT folks test it and (hopefully) disseminate the same instructions as I posted above to the Customer Service reps so that they can help other folks experiencing this same problem. I received a very nice reply thanking me for the information and that they have documented it for review (hopefully by their IT folks).

If anyone has tried something other than the things that I have mentioned, regardless of whether it worked or not, please post your findings.

Thanks!
