Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel Shutoff

I am having a problem with the down shift cable. It appears that the "arm" that attaches the cable to the transmission is sticking in various positions. the first symptom is "lighter" pressure needed on the accelerator pedal. I pulled off the cover on the side of the fuel pump cable cotrol box and could see that the downshift cable was indeed sticking. At the transmission end I sprayed wd-40 where the "arm" enters the transmission, but that fix lasted a week or so. Any thoughts?

return spring M.I.A.?

Is the return spring at the TV lever in place? Disconnect cable at both ends and see if it moves freely. If not, time for a new one.

TV cable

If it is the cable and you have to replace it, let me know, I had to buy a new one to get the clip that holds the adjustment, about $50. 00 for the cable. I think it is under the seat of my truck, will ship it to you for 25. 00 plus shipping or will bring it to you about the 1st of Oct. You will hae to save the plastic clip from your old cable. bg
