Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Downshift transmission slip???

I've had my truck about 4 or 5 months now. And this has happend 3 times to me since I added the EZ just after getting it. When I punch it and the transmission shifts down, the RPM's go way up and I go nowhere. I let off, and roll into it a little, and it takes off like normal if I punch it again..... It doesn't happen every time, only 3 times. Only when shifting down, from 3rd to 2nd I believe. I keep OD locked out all the time in town. Just wondering if I'm going to be needing to upgrade the transmission before I had planned???

Sounds like the torque converter is slippin' away... Mine did the same thing when I got it with only 26000miles. "Normal" driving it seemed fine, but punch it and I'd sit and wait. All I had at that time was a EZ also. I did the transmission upgrade before I went any further with the bombs... Good luck.
