How do you know that the DPF is partially plugged? What symptoms are you seeing? What is your fuel mileage and what is the LIE-O-Meter telling you? How many miles are on your truck? if over 67,500 miles has your EGR cooler been serviced?

Is the problem you are seeing fuel contamination in the oil? If so that is normal with this year of truck. The percentage varies based on a lot of other things and essentially once it gets to 5% an oil change is recommended. If you are seeing that percentage exceed 5% in less than say 5000 miles you have a developing issue with either the emissions systems or fuel system. If your mileage is suffering that is also an indication of potential problems. Do not rely on the OH mileage, hand calculate your mileage so you know what it really is. Does that help?

the guy i bought the truck from gave me the service records for the truck. the egr cooler was replaced by the dodge dealer ship at 70,000 miles. truck averages 17 miles per gallon. i change oil at 5000 miles and it almost fills a five gallon pail when i drain it.

I find that hard to believe and still get 17 mpg. Most of these won't get 17 mpg even with no fuel loss. Fuel diluted by 60% fuel is going to show obvious problems that would dictate an immediate change and frequent UOA's to find when it is passing an acceptable dilution.

It what you describe is actually happening quit driving it NOW before there is a rod out the side of the block. If a UOA shows high fuel contamination then injectors and\or CP-3 are the usual culprits.

I'm going to have my mechanic do an egr system service and see what happens. If fuel contamination continues then we will look at cp3 pump and injectors.

The EGR will not dump fuel into the engine oil. A failed EGR will put coolant into the engine, I believe. Before you waste any more money do an oil sample this is a very low cost tech solution to identify what is in your oil. Geno's Garage sells an oil sampling kit for $26.00 a unit. Or you can go to Blackstone labs for a kit that cost $28.00 a unit. The report back will provide information on percent of fuel dilution, soot and water by volume in the oil and other contaminants in the oil. This will provide information to you and your mechanic as to what is wrong with your engine.

I do a sample every time I have changed the oil since new I have over 16 sample reports.

My 2012 would do the same thing. Computer would demand an oil change after just 1700 miles and it would over fill a 5 gal bucket every time. I ended up lemon Laing the truck after a year of trying to get it fixed.

My vote is for a oil sample, and a precautionary oil drop before you do kick a rod! Can you smell diesel on the dipstick?
