Mark Craig at Diesel Performance Parts has put together a super exhaust system. I would like to thank him for delivering a great product at a great price.
The fit and finish of this system is incredible. It 's clear that a lot of work went into making it a perfect fit and a very easy install. Everything was dead on, from the hangers already welded in place, to the alignment, to the down angle at the tip. This angle can be adjusted by bending the hangers before tightening the final clamp, but I thought it looked great right where it was. The tip is polished to a finish you'd expect from Chrome. All in all, it's a beautiful system that will make you want to lie under your truck admiring it.
How does it sound? It sounds awesome!!! It has a nice deep note that reminds me of the rumble from out of an 18 wheeler's stacks. If there's a drone, I can't hear it. Honestly, I'd have to take a ride in someone else's rig to hear their drone before I could say what I was talking about. I have had it described to me as a kind of resonance and I just don't hear anything like that. DPP's claim is that it is only a few dB louder than stock, and my ear bears this out.
Scott at Massdiesel put me onto this exhaust, saying it is one of the best he has seen for fit, finish, and sound I agree. This is a great SS system at a great price. If it's still too much on the $$, they have an aluminized system of equal quality and equally competitively priced. Check it out at www.dieselperformanceparts.com
And no, I don't own stock in the company. It's just that I've been waiting a long time for a system like this, and finally found it.
