Well while admist the goings on at the Enterprise Engine Performance 2006 Charity Pull a new sleek looking ride slipped into the vendors area. Having just been assembled, loaded and brought out for all to see Brad Eckstam has got himself one righteous looking ride. At any rate chatting with him this truck is being prepared for a assault on the "Pony Express" race which is a closed course high speed race highway race in which one has to attempt to guess how fast he/she will run the course in. The truck is being prepared with a host of high quality vendors stepping up to assist them and when you get to see the truck in person it truely is a fine ride.

At any rate, here are some spy shots of the slick looking Bright White,Go-Man-Go accented 2006 Ram 3500 LB 4x4 for all to enjoy. Follow the link below to my Picasa Web Album of the truck... ... ... . Andy

What is the deal with the bottles mounted sideways?

Why waste money on Twins when you have a Bottle. Weights too much anyway so why no use them?

Nice looking ride though, either someone has allot of money to spend or has a good tax write off for advertising.

Doesn't matter what way the bottles are mounted, except that the necks are upright. Sideways is not a issue that affects performance.

Bottle + Twins= BIG END Charge alot faster when on one of those lengthy long straighaways. This is not a drag truck however a hig speed street road racer.

It was built because he wanted too and has always wanted to try and do this run as I asked the same question myself... ... ..... Andy

gauge overload.

I like it! A guy can never have to many guages!

I'd like:

EGT

Boost

drive pressure

trans temp

trans pressure

fuel pressure

intake air temp at the intake plenum

and water pressure for the cooling system.

ok sure. . At least the gauges look cool kinda neat, and painted to match. Unfortunately the rail pressure gauge is a little outa place (after the fact addition I'm assuming).

Now, not to nit pick, I'm sure this truck's faster then mine. :)

BUT.

Why long box quad cab? I suppose the answer will be "just had one, and desided to do this race with it".

ok, yet another 700hp truck that's to big for it's purpose. :)

ideal truck is std cab lowered with a set of tires that are not ment for off road when you do a "highway race". I know for fact that my nitto 295/70/17's can't even handle a hot juice/ez with stock charger combo. the R20 version's won't do much better, unless your in 4x4 all the time.

Now 2wd vs 4wd... I don't wanna go there.

I wanna see lots of pictures of this truck opening lots of cans of whooop $#@ on many many vettes, stangs, beemers and maybe few other choice cars as well.

Well the thought I have with the size... .

Longer is easier to control. Take a little F-body mustang. Sure you can step it out and snap it back with control. But... you have a knife edge between love and hate. Something as long as a school bus... you've got a kitchen table of grey area depending on the driver.

ROFLOL! I absolutely love the analogy!

But, there's a reason the z06 vette doesn't have a 160" wheel base :). Tho, once you get a vette lose, not the average joe could recover. Personally, I was at a 80% recovery rate when I would really toss a vette into a corner (parking lot courses, didn't wreck one, just a few cones died. )

I know what you mean it's not easy. The truck is a bit easier to recover. The funny part is that most people don't realize this and they think your like super driver.

Anyone know of the F/R axel weight ratio is on a 2wd std cab diesel vs a 4x4 quad cab log box diesel? That's the key here when putting any car/truck into a turn and expect to come out the outher side going in the correct direction.

No matter what the fender says... . it was not MY FAULT! That is the thanks i get for staying up to 2AM putting gauges in.

Hey Dan. .

Now you KNOW we really didn't mean to let that photo slip in there,RIGHT? :-laf :-laf . Actually,we even had to redo the words on the fender just for you,LOL.

Seriously,it is one righteous ride and enjoy the clean hands thing as it won't last... ... ... Andy

This truck gets better every time I see it. It is transforming into a true master piece. I will see you at SEMA and we will have a rerun like Edmonton. Look Out!

I can tell you that the fnt axle holds 4450 Lbs. The reason for the truck the way it is: It was going to be our pulling truck for our trailer. But the more we built on it, the more we saw that it just wasnt going to cut it..... being 6'1" and all and missing half the spring pack in the rear! (dont know if yall got to see is with the Stock 17" wheels and SUPER LOW PROS to let it fit in the trailer! "They see me roll'n..... they hate'n... ... " Tires if you will..... haha..... ) I know KORE is going to help us with a custom suspention and get us set up with a roll cage after SEMA. The tires and wheels on the truck now are not what we are going to run. We just didnt have our wheels and tires just yet. High speed tires are going on it... . trust me on that! I can honestly say... working on the thing was a dream..... i have never worked on a truck that never got my hands dirty once! haha... . you could eat off every square inch of this thing... ... . The Pony Express race will be fun..... will it be the best set up for the race..... naw... . will it get some attention and bring some light to the diesel world? We hope. BUT we are looking at the Salt Flats as well for a high speed run.....

We had a lot of vendors that steped up to help with this truck... and we thank them very much for doing so... ... Things I would never get to play with with my own truck!! :-laf

Wish there was a fnt pic with the hood closed..... that SRT-10 hood with the "GO-Man-GO" painted scoop is slick... ... think i will paint my living room that color... ... #ad

Unfortunately, that's how a lot of these trucks start up. One day I hope someone will build a 3rd gen like this with a std cab and see what losing 1500#'s can do. :)

good luck with it!

My favorite part was when Brad called me and dropped the bomb on me as to what he wanted to do... ... ... ..... looks good, like Brad said, "you all have toys to play with, I want one too". Keep it up... ... ... ... later Jim.

So how did you do in the closed course road races that the original post said it was being built for? Any links to some footage of that type of racing and why don't we hear more about this kind of racing? I think our rigs would do real well there especially at the reduced fueling intervals if they are long races.
