Hey there!! I was looking at another bulletin board ( Rodeo folks) and someone asked about performance chips for their Dodge to help with mileage and performance. Of COURSE I refered them to TDR!! But I also advised about guages and warranties, etc... . There was a poster who got quite miffed at me and said guages were NOT necessary as the chips had built in protection from engine damage... LOLOL Here is the chip this person is running and the numbers they are claiming... I pulled this right off the post. .
I have a DR Performance chip on my 2004 and a half Dodge 2500 Heavy Duty 2 Wheel drive. I get 26-30 MPG empty, 22 MPG with the 20 Exiss and 19 MPG pulling my 24' Platinum Living quarters trailer. You bet I beleive in a power chip!
Here is what the same poster said in another post:
Sir, You do not need guages on all diesel performance products, Dr. Performance's modules are programed to not allow, exaust gas temperature, (egt) to rise to a level of engine problems. They are designed simply by throttle response, and all manual transmissions can handle a module.
My question is, is anyone on here running this chip??? Are her claims true?? THanks!!
