I had a Drag comp on my 00 and sold it to a buddy that has a 98. 5. It worked good for the first day then started cutting out, getting stuck on the levels, and a few times killed the truck. We installed it right, used a pump cover, checked everything we could think of. This never happened on my 00. I had the drag comp updated from edge right before i sold it. Anyone have a idea why this is happening. It should work fine with the years 98. 5 - 00.

The cutting out and stuck on levels could possible be related to a poor ground. As far as killing the truck, the VP44 may have died. I remember reading a while back that if it's gonna go, it (VP44) typically goes soon after tappin the wire (or pump cover). What codes did it throw?

When mine got stuck on levels it was time for a new comp. It also killed the truck twice. I thought I had major issues. Unplugging the comp fixed it.

You may have a seperate issue such as a poor ground as previously stated. Mine was 1, I mean 2, no wait, 3, mmmm, better make that 4 failed comps in 2 years.
