Hey yall, I'm new to the 24v forum. I just had to get rid of the 12 v so now I'm over here but really anxious to get started. Where can I find the best deal on an edge drag comp? The best I've found so far is $800 at Relentless Diesel. Thanks

Eric

I paid 500 installed for my BD box from a local bd dealer/automotive shop. That 5" better be straight pipe!! Oo.

When I bought it 2 days ago it had a muffler for some odd reason. I just have to find a piece of 5" pipe to make it straight. A straight pipe is a must for me. How does the BD box compare to the Drag Comp? And has anyone ever heard of the hot comp? It claims to have a horsepower gain of 75-220 as to where the Drag Comp says to have 60-140. What do yall think? Thanks

Eric

The BD box is not available in Drag version beside the BD box is a rebadge of Edge comp box shop around you can find a Drag comp for a good price

My main question is, have any of yall heard of the Hot Comp box? I was looking at the horsepower gain and it is 80 more over the drag comp. Whats up with this? And when my truck is cold and idleing I have visible smoke coming out of the blowby tube. Is this bad? How much is too much blow by? Thanks guys

Eric

BD is a Edge comp box. It even says EDGE on the back of mine. BD has named it a "Race Pro" Im not sure if youre going to be pulling/drag your truck but just a comp is AWESOME! If you build up to it you can stack a "box" ontop of the comp box. IMO a comp is the way to go unless youre going more extreme uses rather than driving around. Dont forget to get bigger injectors then that leads to a new trans, then turbo of course! :D It gets addicting and makes the $ in youre wallet disappear quick! Get gauges!!! then go from there! THANKFULLY I had mine and saw the FP drastically drop 300mi over 100,000!!! whew! saved that vp-44! my gallery has a pic of my set up.

As for the blow by Q I cant help ya. sorry

Keep on truckin

Do not stack anything with a Comp box.

What Kieth said. You can stack a TST Powermax 3 with a Van Aaken, or an Edge EZ , because the TST Powermax or a Blue Chip FMS adds FUELING ONLY. The other box would add timing. But stacking boxes that both add timing could prove to be the last thing you do to your ISB before you start rebuilding it. :(

So the only difference between the drag comp and just the regular comp box is that the drag comp doesn't defuel, right? I just ordered the drag comp from piers about an hour ago. I can't wait! I also ordered the guages. I know how important gauges are from when I had the 12v. I'm going to be racing it sometimes and daily driver so I can just turn it down on the road. Thanks

...

Eric: send me pics of the ol' "Graphite Ghost" as i named her pouring out smoke from that drag comp :D Hey and don't be picking on my muffler :{ ... remember i drove 250-300 miles per day and had to keep my ears from ringing somehow  ... BTW: That blowby was like that at 40k miles when i got it, not sure what the original owner did with it until i got it. . imagine that dumping into the little breather bottle near the radiator?

I'm just messin with you about the muffler. lol. I'm not worried about the blowby too much. I ordered the Drag Comp and Autometer C2 gauges today and the DD3's or Super-Mentals are next! (I can't decide which) I'll send pics of it pouring smoke! BTW:I love the truck!

got mine from Christan at BD with a pump cover payed $650. Remember to get that cover so you don't have to tap into the pump wire.

blow by is ok and normally seen when cold out side... just nature of the beast.

how about $559. 20 for edge comp, not drag...

the pump cover replaces the stock injection pump cover. By doing this you don't have to tap into your injection pump timing wire. Tapping into your wire voids the warranty and dodge knows to look there if the pump goes out. Also run a carter pusher pump when running the comp box. Low fuel pressure is a bad thing and the stock lift pump can't keep up. Also EGT guage is a must when installing a box watch the egt all the time Heat kills

$525

For a brand new Drag Comp from a 4X4 shop :D :D :D :D

I believe the hot version and the drag version are the same. The part number for the drag comp is the same as the reg comp it just says the work HOT after it. The box it came in also has HOT stamped on it. Im not sure about the 220 hp though that has to be a typo.

P. S dont ask me for a hook up on a drag comp either, the best I can get you guys is about $600
