Took my truck to "JB Weld" to have the welding done.

Thoughts on if the dealer will mark it complete? My cruise has been acting up and would like it fixed before heading South since I use it a lot.

I would think so.

Was it loose at all, did you check it first?

Only asking bc mines never been done either.

Was it just they forgot to tighten them or is there a real issue of them coming loose.

I have 35k on my '18.

It is my belief that someone at the factory was not clocking the two ends the same direction and when turning they undid themselves. I found my far side nut would spin with a single finger on it right after receiving the Jan 2019 recall. I backed that nut way out and put a liberal amount of Blue Loctite on it and clocked the ends the same direction while tightening it back up. It was still fine when I removed it to install the new style one (May of this year) I purchased just before they raised the price. FCA repaid me for the drag link and new nuts, however they are still challenged 5 months later to remove the pending recall from my vin.

If he takes it in for the cruise they will do the recall.

Not if he doesn't agree. I've had my truck in several times for service and several times for warranty software updates. I tell them no and they don't touch it. Just had it in Friday. "Do you want the recall done? Is it still welding? Yes. No thanks. Ok, we won't do it." Same convo everytime I take it in.

I can not even get a dealer to write off my new style Drag Link, even though FCA reimbursed me.

I had that issue too, except no reimbursement. I went with the Synergy drag link, and the dealer said that if they "completed" the recall after this was installed they would have to remove it, reinstall the faulty factory parts, and then weld them. There is no alternate method of compliance, and the dealer I went to was a very "by the book" shop.

Well I picked up my truck yesterday. They replaced the Cruise Control switch along with the tailgate recall. I had asked them to look at my "JB WELDS" and certify it has been done.

Have to laugh at the "EGR Service DUE at 67,500" Lol. What a load of crap. Ask them to show you in the manual where that is required on a 2015 truck.

Just FYI, they are replacing drag links with the new versions if you open a complaint about it. I refused to let them weld mine (told the dealer not to touch it) and opened a case with Ram cares and got it replaced a couple weeks ago. Maybe too late now that you had them buy off on the JB weld but just thought I would throw the information out there.

Yea I told the service guy the 13 and up don't need the cleaning but I also told him I understand they need to make money. He treated me well!!!

Cool my "JB WELD" passed inspection.
