Thanks, TDR Staff

Wichita International Raceway on 9-13-02!!

where will next year's tdr national be located?

Ok, here's the deal. Anyone in the Ennis, Texas area that feels like coming out to Texas Motorplex friday night, is more than welcome! They're having LTI Fast Fridays which is open track night. I believe the gates open at 5:00pm and go until 12:00.

I'll be out there trying to get some track times and would be glad to see everyone that is willing and able to come. I know it's short notice, but I just found out it was open track night. I will have Blue Thunder there, another dodge from the college is supposed to come, A ford stroke and a duramax is supposed to show up too. It should be a fun show for anyone there, even if you just come to watch.

oh yeah

I will be there what time are yall showing up. I live around the track so I will brign some friends also and we can have a good time I will be in a (look as sig).

sounds like fun I've wanted to get some times myself.

Daniel

I'll be there waiting for the gates to open :D !!!

I'll get a for sure answer tommorrow for when the races begin. This is gonna be so fun, I can see it now!!!

Gizmo how long are yall going to stay out there?? I should be out there about 7-8 I have to come in from school (stephenville) I will be ready to run.

I'll probably stay out till 11:00 ~ 11:30. I've got to make a run to Beaumont at 6:00 am saturday, so I don't want to be out too late.

I really hope I don't break anything on the strip.

sounds like a good time and don't worrie I live close and I have trailers :D and if I break with ya I have friends

Sounds good man. I hope that neither of us break ANYTHING, but just in case, it's nice to know we have a way home :D. I'm also bringing a buddy along to video the races. This should be interesting.

I'm going to be there at 6:00 and plan to leave at/around 11:30 so I can drive to Beaumont at 6 in the morning (If the truck is still in one piece). Look forward to seeing you!

Here's the report. Sorry it's so late.

My best time slip out of 6 races:

R/T ... 1. 270

60' ... 2. 689

330' ... 7. 158

1/8 ... 10. 761 mph ... 69. 34

1/4 ... 16. 413 mph ... 86. 84

drice's best time slip out of 4 races:

R/T ... 1. 153

60' ... 2. 535

330' ... 7. 166

1/8 ... 10. 868 mph ... 66. 89

1/4 ... 16. 839 mph ... 82. 40

Track conditions sucked ... real bad. I ended up running 4wd just so I could make a decent launch! Daniel would have, but he was afraid of breaking the xfer case.

All in all, it was a lot of fun! Next time, maybe there will be a lot more diesels there besides just us two. I also hope to have videos up by next week (or as soon as I can convert them).

Oh, BTW: 24 Valves RULE! :D Don't they Daniel!?

races

Oh, BTW: 24 Valves RULE! Don't they Daniel!?

well I don't know if I'd go that far good truck just overvalved makes big difference on the top end

hopefully by next week I will have a few tricks up my sleeve and we can go again :D but yes we had a great time hope you got your trans fixed :{

yea, I fixed the trans saturday. I pulled it down and found that I had broken the 4th and 5th gear shift forks. My cousin had a 6-speed that he had toasted, so I robbed the forks out of it. Truck is ready to roll again. Took most of the day for that little stunt.

I don't have any more tricks as of now (unless I can finish my twin turbo setup, yea right). Maybe I can finish that in the next few weeks and can find a set of bigger injectors. Maybe a set of REALLY wide drag slicks too :D.

gizmo

I hear you are going back this weekend let me know if yall still are that ford(V10) is SLOW I will try to be out there hopefully with my new plate see if it made any difference.

Man, I honestly don't know if I'll make it this weekend or not. If things go like I think they will, my truck will be in a 101 pieces while a few of us try to get the twin turbo setup installed. All we like is a piece of flex tubing, and a hose to connect the inlets of the turbos. I hope to complete the install by early next week if not sooner. If I get it together in time, I'd be glad to go. But I can't say. Time is just gonna get extremely tight this week.

I'm gonna try my best to have it together for Dyno Day. I can hear my poor little 35psi boost guage begging for mercy as it is :D.

NOOOOOOOO

if you do that then I really wont want to race you.

if you need ANY help I will be more then happy to come down.

I met up with a DuraMax-er at the Ennis track

on June 28th. Nice complex but poorly managed!

We called and they said track opens at 7PM. We

got there around 6:30 but they didn't start

letting anyone in till almost 8:30 and then the

tech inspector (dude that writes a number on

your ride with shoe polish  ) didn't

show up till 9!

Lots of questions about diesels and a

bunch of misconceptions! :D No one would believe

us that these two trucks would run in the 15's.

(Well the DMax did anyway).

Finally started lining up at the track itself.

Me and the Red DMax were the first two thru

tech. And the first two to line up in the

staging lanes! Lots of fun. I could not get a

good launch (NV4500 5 speed). The DMax was a

2001 Chevy 2500HD extended cab short bed 4x4.

We weighed our trucks at the digital scale that

is just after the booth you pick up the time

slips at. Both trucks were within 40 Lbs of

each other! Mine weighed in at 6,740 with me in

it and about 20 gallons (140 Lbs) of fuel.

My best time that night was a 16. 4 @ 84 MPH.

Ran a total of three times then sat and watched

for awhile and took pictures. The other data

for the best run:

R/T . 942

60' 2. 34

330' 6. 08

1/8 10. 466

MPH 65. 99

1/4 16. 376

MPH 83. 97

I won that run against the DMax. He has the

Edge Juice but left it off that run. So I can

beat a stock DMax by . 6125. His times were in

the high 15. 8 range, at 86 MPH, thanks to the

fact he has the Allison transmission and I was shiftin

gears. If mine was an auto I'm sure it would

be much closer.

My best run to date at Rockingham NC dragway

was 16. 2 @ 87 MPH. Much cooler air that night.

*EDIT-additional info*

I have an Edge 3 light fueling module, one of

the early ones. Standard programming. Boost and

EGT gauges by AutoMeter on the A pillar. Boost

elbow that came with the Power Edge. Max boost

around 30 PSI.

I did a stock run (Edge turned off) at Rockingham

just out of curiosity. How about a smokin'

18. 9 @ 73 MPH!! :p

6,740 lbs!? Mine weighs in at 7,860! No wonder my launches sucked :D! That 400 pound front bumper doesn't help much either . That much weight, combined with a six speed just doesn't mix with the 1/4 mile. Guess I'll just have to make up for it with raw torque and overdrive.

Good times man, good times.

And Drice, my truck is still in pieces, so I won't be able to make it friday night. Machine shop says it'll be monday until my cross-tube is finished. And to think, I had my heart set on finishing it this weekend! Oh well.

I guess I'll just have to work poor Rauls just a little harder to get it done :D. Let's get in touch next week and figure out where / when we need to meet up next saturday. You are still going, right?
