is it normal to release the lever on the fuel canister and no fuel come out of the hose? it does not matter how many times you prime the canister, i open the valve and only 1/2 oz comes out. is my fuel pump bad?

issue 42 2003-2004 explains the fuel system and states 10psi from pump. how can i test this to see if my pump is bad?

I just changed my fuel filter yesterday for the first time at 5400 miles, and noticed that the fuel does come out of the hose very slowly. Mine did end up draining what seemed like about a quart of fuel, however it did it very slowly. I didn't have anyone to turn the key while the lever was open, and didn't want to make a puddle on my floor :D

Have someone turn the key on and off a couple of times while you have the lever open. Fuel will come out quite quickly then. I do it all the time to get a little diesel out to start campfires, etc. I just put a coke bottle on the end of the drain hose to catch it. Obviously if no fuel comes out after this the pump is probably bad.
