I don't want to be a whimp, 'bout this, it does sound silly, but this little radiator drain thing is giving me nightmares. I wrote a week or so ago asking for help getting the radiator to drain. I've tried everything that I know to do. I've turned the petcock a few degrees and tried pulling, 15 degrees, 45, -- full open, (90 degrees), tried pulling while I'm turning, it does not seem to pull, and I'm scared that I'm going to break the plastic thing off, I've put force on this gem of a drain. Has anyone run into the same problem?? Besides taking it in and having it done, Are there any ideas??

JW,dont feel bad. I had the same problems. Try turning it 180 degrees and pull out. It will only pop out enough to start draining. Then, if you want to take it out completly turn it clockwise a little and pull untill it pops out. Hope this helps.

Bad news, I applied alittle more pulling force and the plastic tab that you grab hold of --broke off. It doesn't look possible to do anything with it now. Lucky it is closed.
Any ideas how I can get the coolant to drain. The lower radiator hose is about 1/3 from the bottom and certainly wouldn't fully drain the coolant. I've done all the maintanance on the rig for over 2 years and have never encountered a problem like this.

It slides pretty easily once you turn it 180. Call the dealer and get a replacement valve. The old one should rotate 180* then pull straight out and start draining. Do like the previous post and turn back clockwise a little and it should slide completely out. Then put the new one in. Don't pull the old one till you get the new one though.
