hi, i had the oppertunity to put in a fuel pressure guage on the fuel filter canister before the filter. i used the tapped banjo bolt method. while the grid heater is drawing the juice the gauge droped to 10 pounds and goes back to 16 when it is not on. now the other side props only 1 pound . is this normal?why is there such a big difference?why dont i see this much difference on the post filter side? by the way the filter has a few 5 thousand miles and i see about 1-2 lbs difference of press. upon acceleration. thanks to any one who might be able to help. carl

Don't worry about the drop w/heaters, a DC motor will slow with voltage drop, watch the amp gauge when they are on, the PCM drops the ALT charge when grids are on.

The ease of changing the filter and low cost of replacement element should entice you into doing the swap. A 10. 00 filter and 5 min of work is worth the peace of mind.

There will be a larger drop in pressure you see in filter sides as the bypass on VP is down stream and the bypass on pump is up stream of filter. The filter is a restriction piont.

thanks AKAMAC now all i need to do is put the right guage & sender in. i didnt realize i needed the 0-16 lbs set up. on this side of the filter. maybe ill place them in the classified section thank god my l/p is still strong.
