Frame mount step bars or boards

I ran across a killer deal (new nerf-bars for $20). They are for an '03 and I've already mounted them. Only problem is that in addition to using the cab-mounts, there are 2 braces (one on each side) which extend over to the frame. Your supposed to drill a small (i'd say 1/4 inch or so) hole and use a sheet metal screw to fasten the support. I don't think it's a big deal, but what do ya'll think?

don't do it!

From what I hear, if you drill ANY holes in the frame, your warranty on it is gone! I may be wrong, but I would check in to it real hard before I did it. If in doubt, Don't do it.

as long as the hole is not in the top or bottom of the frame rails, and i it is more than 1" away from the edge [top or bottom] you can very safely drill a 1/4" hole. there somewhere burried in the previous threads in this forum is the guidelines for drilling the frame for adding accessories...

I dug this post up from the grave. What kind of bars did you have that needed to mount to the frame. I'm looking for something that doesn't attach to the rocker at all.

Those would attach to the rockers and just a brace to the frame-not a good idea since the body moves independant of the frame
