Had a real scare last night. Discovered the undercarriage was wet with oil. Started the truck up and I had a drip coming out of bell housing. About 1 drop every 5 seconds. First thing that crossed my mind was oh s*&^ I need a rear Main Seal. On further investigation I determined it was fuel and not oil. Knowing that on these engines it is impossible to get fuel in the engine without going past the rings it had to be something else.
Number 2 HP injection line had a real small drip coming out of it. I could barley see it. The oil was traveling down the side of the head and down the back of the engine. . It was the line I bleed the air off the last time I took the lines off and I must not have tightened it as good as I should have.
Tightened the line and had a beer to celebrate.
Thought I would share it with you all in case anyone else gets "oil" dripping out of the bell housing.
