Does anyone know if anyone even makes a drive presure gauge. I need one that at lease goes to 60 psi. Has anyone made one out of a regular boost gauge.
 
I think i read about doing that not too long ago on here. Seems to me that they tapped in to the manifold and then used copper tubing for a couple of feet to handle the heat, then converted over to the plastic tube to run to the gauge. Seems to me there was a trick to keeping the whole thing from sooting up and clogging also. Sorry im not much more help.

yes the soot can be a problem along with exhaust pulses. I have actually had the exhaust pulses beat the needle off of a gauge I was using for checking drive pressures. After talking to Mark at TST, he gave me a tip for the gauge. Use a jet or orfice of some type at the transition point where you chane over from copper to plastic. In my case I made a piece using an old nitrous jet. The orfice serves two purpposes. (1) It dampens the exhaust pulses and gives you a better reading. (2) It is where the soot will collect so it is easier to pull apart and clean in the future
 
i use a regular boost gauge and it works fine. I used copper tube from a snubber out of the manifold then plastic tube. the snubber is just a needle valve you can get from the hardware store. there is just a little noise from the gauge at 2000 rpm with the exhaust brake on, but it's not bad.
