Yup...been with them since at least 1968, except for three years in in the mid 70's while stationed in Germany when we had Zurich ($$$). We were treated very well by our agents around the country and were very pleased when we filed any claims. However, in the past several years they have changed the way they do business and it is almost impossible to just drop in and have a bit of one-on-one face time with the agent to ask pertinent questions. It used to be easy and informative. Now you have to talk to the front desk person, who most of the time can't tell what time it is or what day of the week it is. Then you have to wait a week or so for them to discuss the issue with the agent before they (not the agent) gets back with you...with the wrong answer. I am tempted to go over to USAA...just waiting for the other foot to get stomped on. My loyalty cup has been spilled too much these past few years...not much left. Although most other insurance companies cannot beat the premiums I get. If they do beat the premiums, it's so miniscule and missing some small, but most important features.
USAA, just another by phone mail-order faceless company, refused to completely fix my dads vehicle from a parking lot hit and run. Further they had the nuts to tell us a "Disability" was a lifestyle choice while at first refusing to cover said "declared on policy" disability mods to a totaled vehicle. You can't make this krap up.

We are working with our American Family ins local office agent that's covering disability mod replacement, now, after dad's vehicle was rear ended and the Progressive ins Co of the 'not paying attention driver' just wanted to total the vehicle. Irrelevant who's fault it is: getting the vehicle fixed and back on the road is taking both insurance companies. The other driver is at risk of a lawsuit when their state minimum insurance gets exceeded by enough $ to justify one. The permanently installed disability mods exceed the book value of the vehicle alone.
I assume TDR members are carrying more than state minimums. If not ask your self what kind of coverage you get from an uninsured Illegal Alien plowing into you. Medical and under/un-insured come from your policy. Rental while your vehicle is being fixed may have to be from your policy. States vary on this. Doesn't hurt to price out 500K smooth and 1 million in coverage. It can be fairly reasonable rates vs. just the minimums. Not for the vehicle, but, for medical if you or passengers get seriously hurt.
