Occasionally I get a 'Lurch' when letting out the clutch from a dead stop,



Not much, but just as the clutch pedal is reaching the top position

it feels like something grabs, can not tell if it is clutch, drive line alignment,

universals, etc, Checked everything underneath, looks ok...



This occurs when loaded with a 3k Truck camper .



Any suggestions on what to check?
 
OK, will check it,

How much side to side play should be in the carrier bearing,
I have about 1/2 inch each way, due to rubber groment...
 
I usually start in 2nd , that's when I feel it,
sometimes it 's just as I let the clutch out, sometime at the top of the travel.
Kind of like a universal, or motor/trans mount, or spring in pressure plate,
Keep looking undereneath, can't find anything, hope it ain't the clutch. .
 
You may want to check the rubber isolator/mount on the bottom of the transmission. It may look ok, but the rubber can separate from the metal and allow movement during take off. You can check it by jacking up the transmission a little and seeing if it seperates.
 
OK, will check trans, good idea,

I use 1st with the camper when on any incline, or if i want ti get it moving in a hurry, otherwisw , ease the clutch,in 2nd, maybe not a good idea. .
 
OK, Think it's fixed, Checked trans mount , some play but rubber not broken

Replaced the 3 universals and the support bearing ( was quite a bit of side to side movement ) universals were tight but starting to weep,.
So I replaced all universals and the support bearing.
Drive train feels tight now , A lot less lash when accel/decell and no clutch "Lurch"
( YET), Will need to load the TC to be sure, few weeks from now. .

Question/Comment: I hate that Auto throttle, Have to push the the clutch down quickly or I get shudder from engine trying to find a rpm it likes.
Really a PITA when Loaded and trying to get a couple of wheels on blocks for level, Much better with Low range and hubs disengaged but still get some
bad shudder sometimes, can't be good for the drivetrain,
Wish Marco could get rid of that feature and let me control the rpm.
Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions ?
