This may be beating a dead horse. The Shell Rotella CK-4 I am using in my 2008 6.7 meets CES20086. I'm looking at the Driven Racing Oil brand DR40 in 15W40 semi-synthetic. It claims CJ-4 specifications. Has anyone used this or had any experience. I do use the information posted on this site and respect the people that have done the analysis for both oils and filters. Thanks for sharing this information.

That is Joe Gibbs Racings signature oil. Interestingly enough, Drivens home address is the same as Lunati Cams. They do not make engine oil (that I'm aware of) but I'm assuming they've got a pretty integral role in the development of the oil given their extensive background in Performance engines.

Joe Gibbs Driven has oil blended to their specifications. They are a marketing organization beyond development. It started with their NASCAR engine program and spread to street performance and now diesel. I get that oil base stocks are very similar and that the differences are in the additive package. Cummins assured that CK4 that has the CES80086 certification is okay with my 6.7. Having gone through losing a number of camshafts in street performance engines after the switch above SJ, I'm just overly cautious. Ford backing away from CK4 just raised a concern for me. All of my small engines continue to see SJ oils.

My above post may have been a bit confusing. I was referring to Lunati playing an integral role in the development of this oil. Both Lunati and Driven share identical addresses, 8649 Hacks Cross Road, Olive Branch, MS. Given their long and storied career in designing cams and cranks for performance engines I'd say Lunati would have a pretty good idea as to what add packs an engine needs. I believe this is who JGR has worked with to develop their race specific oil, it would be interesting to know who is actually blending it. It may be worth an email to them, perhaps you could get some insight on some of the questions you seek.
