Geno's has a polyethylene skid plate for the front end on page 16 of their latest catalog. They claim it helps keep the engine compartment clean. Does anyone out there have this? Or something similar/better they can recommend? I'd like something that will keep the road salt out of my engine compartment this winter...

I too have been looking at that skid plate. The company that makes it also makes skids for snowmachines and they have a good quality product.

I guess I'll pile on here too...

I was thinking about ordering one but was wondering if my DSS would pose any installation problems.

?

Put mine on last weekend.

What a pain in the ____.

With the front reciever and the anti-sway bar, I had to do some cutting and fitting to make it work. Looks great now and fits good enough for me. Should help to keep a lot of snow out of the engine compartment also.

Only complaint, . . . they should have used any existing bolts and or holes instead of drilling everything.

Yes, I would buy it again.

Go for it.

Thanks TFlower but...

that didn't exactly answer my question. Also, I've thought of something else, without knowing how or where exactly the "skid plate" mounts, I'm also wondering if the OE style Mopar tow hooks pose any mounting concerns. I'm not so much worried about the tow hooks themselves, it's the substantial mounting bracket weldments I have possible concerns over.

Just wondering :D

Tow hooks were no problem at all.

Will try and get a digital picture or two of the skid plate installed from different angles. Like I said earlier, with the anti-sway bar and the front reciever, I had to do some hacking and fitting to make it work.
