Hi everyone, just got back from a 3000 mile trip and my drivers door flexes about a 1/2 inch at the top in a good head wind. lets in quite a draft. I could grab the top and pull in and close off most of the wind. Question, is this just cheap *** door material or do u think it maybe out of adjustment?? Heard alot about the weather striping being torn, not the case here. Any thoughts"?? thanks

my ram also does the same thing. mine doesnt let in a draft but you get the wind noise. only happens on a very windy day, i hear the passanger side door do it occasionally also so i think its just the design of the truck. but if your actually getting air coming threw then maybe your weather stipping is starting to flatten or maybe their is and adjustment on the door. but i dont think so.

Sounds like its out of adj. or the hinge pins are worn. Have you tried lifting the outside edge while the door is open to see if there's any slop?

i had the exact same thing on my truck. it was really bad on the drivers side and fairly bad on the passenger side. i ended up rolling down the window, putting my knee on the inside edge of the door about halfway down and pulled in on the top. i did it a few times and it bent the door enough to stop it from happening.

a little redneck, i know, but it worked.

You should be able to adjust the door to get it a little tighter. Mark the hinge location before you start. The hinge washers are epoxied in place so once you loosen the bolts, rap the washer with a chisel to break it loose. Make your adjustment and tighten it back up.

It probably isn't worn hinge pins(unless they are shipping new trucks with worn hinges :D ), my truck did it from day one! It apears to be a combination of a bad design and out of adjustment. :(
