I just replaced the batteries on my truck and found that the ground cable on the drivers side is very tight! Are they tight on other year trucks? Is mine unusual in being very tight? Anyone know if this can be corrected easily? Are the cables on other year models longer/adaptable? Any input will be appreciated.

I just replaced mine also and, like you, found terminals that were very tight. I had to completely remove the clamping bolt and spread the ends of the clamp apart. Even doing that, the clamp was still tight. It was mostly the ends of the clamp that bent; not the circular part of the clamp. It was a b**** to remove them.

Mine was too Harold. I think you are talking about the Length of the ground cable?

I changed my batteries to Optima Red Tops. I moved the battery to the edge of the battery tray, closer to the engine. It is still tight, but has been ok.

Did you check the cable connection on the engine block? Maybe it could be loosened and re positioned to provide more slack in the cable.
