driver side electric seat adjust

have 2004 laramie edition has heated seats and also 3 buttons to adjust drivers seat. I think that a gear has striped out on one of the adjustments, motor runs but no action, other buttons work. is the gear replaceable? I was told that the entire gearbox has to be replaced, cost for one from a bone yard is 1200$ is what I have been told.

Welcome to the Dodge seat nightmare. . Seems that the gearbox tends to crack. They don't offer repair parts only the entire asy. and as you've found it's anything but cheap. I ended up removing the gear box and the adjustment screw. I replaced the adjuster with a steel rod, I set the length where I liked the seat drilled and pinned it there. Was alot cheaper than buying a seat base that would fail the same way again and again. .

Interesting last time I replaced one (new) it wasn't that much

Before I paid that much money I would try this fix Dodge truck lumbar repair procedure.
