2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Drivers front tire wear on outside edge

Borrowing my fathers 0135004x4 qc diesel and the drivers front tire is wearing on the outside edge only This is a brand new tire. He just put new tires on it and had an alignment done. Not sure of the exact specs i will try to find the sheet. THey told him that the camber was out and they put it back in... but the tire is still wearing on the outside edge. I have done a search and am even more confused. Any ideas would be great. He is gone for the next two weeks and i am hoping to get this squared away for him.

Is the tread feathering? You can tell by rubbing your hand across the tread. It will feel rough going out and smooth going in. If so then the toe is too far in. The only way to adjust camber on the FE is with excentric ball joints. Mike

been there did that, spent a bunch on tire shop alignments :-{}



finally, went to a real algnment place, that is all they do. One time and the tire wear went away. Oo.

I took my truck to F. L. Snyder in Albany Oregon. They specialize in big trucks. If I were in your area I'd ask the folks at Merrill and Sons

If they would take care of it, or if they won't do it. Who do they trust to do it to their truck.

Did you check the hub bearing? When they start to go out they can seriously affect your tire wear.

I had tire wear on the outside right tire and it ruined a new tire in 3 months. After taking it back to the tire shop and paying for a new tire and then ruining it I finally found a REAL alignment shop.



The camber was barely in spec but the shop adjusted it more negative to compensate for the wear by changing the offset sleeve at the right knuckle and it fixed my problem.
