Drivers side power door lock assem. on my 04

Tonight out of nowhere my drivers side door latch assem went out. Now this created a real problem cause the only way to operate the door is to open it from the inside using the door handle. The door lock button is stuck down and you can't pull it up, won't work with the key either. I think I need to replace the unit? If so any idea how much they run?

In case anyone is interested, I bought a new lock assem. from Mopar and it was only $29. 07, That is the cheapest part I've bought in like, forever!

yes i had the same problem on my 04. 5 the dealer said there was a recall.

the rod becomes disloged and binds on the latch.

they reolaced the whole assembly that would have cost 450. 00

Had the lock assembly go on my '06 truck a while ago. If memory serves, cost of the replacement was just over $50.



Mine stopped responding to the key fob on a random basis. The other doors would open but not the drivers door. If it was any other door I probably would have left it, but being the door I use the most I had to fix it. I did the removal and replacement myself. Was not very hard just time consuming getting everything lined up.
