Well Guys:

On the way home from work tonight I heard a loud clunking and the truck wouldn't go anywhere. The driveshaft came out of the rear yoke on the rear end. The 2 clamps to hold the u-joint in were both there as were the u joint end caps still in the yoke. The u joint was still in the driveshaft, but driveshaft was dragging the ground  What came loose? Hopefully, the driveshaft shop will be open tomorrow and i can get it checked for straightness and get a new u-joint put in.

Number one get rid of the crappy straps and go to the U-bolt style yoke. The u-joint popped out for a reason: Either the straps came loose becaue someone did not use lock-tite on them or they reused the old straps (new straps should be used everytime a new u-joint is put in) and the u-joint was walking in the yoke and popped out or the yoke itself wore out and allowed the u-joint to pop out or someone did not put the right size u-joint in in the first place, you should be using a spicer 1410 joint.

Well Guys:

She's back on the road. Got a new u-joint installed and had it balanced. It was bent, then it was straightened and balanced. The man said that it could've been bent before or after, there was no way to tell. I did have a vibration at about 45 mph and it doesn't seem to be there now. Maybe that was a problem way before this.
